FTA Awards

ANNOUNCING THE NEW AND IMPROVED FTA AWARD PROGRAM

Check out these new features

  • You can submit your good ideas and favorite programs throughout the year.
  • You can update submissions as programs mature or yield new results.
  • Once submitted, nominations remain eligible for consideration year after year. (We borrowed this one from sports Hall of Fame voting.)
  • There is no limit on how many great ideas you can submit. (We want your sister agencies to be inspired to steal all of your great work.)
  • Awards will not be based on specific categories. (In the past management nominations would be accepted one year, technology another, and so on.)
  • Judges will be retired former presidents of the FTA Board of Trustees. They will choose the cream of the crop to receive an award. The number of winners will vary each year.

AND HERE IS THE BEST NEWS OF ALL — Now you can easily fill out a form to submit your nomination. We took lessons from Storytelling 101 and USA TODAY to minimize the need for writing, eliminate the need for clever formatting and let your communications department strike one thing off its to-do list.

For 2018, nominations submitted by March 31 will be considered for awards. Award winners will be announced in April, and awards will be presented during the FTA Annual Meeting in June. Any FTA agency is eligible to receive an award. FTA members are the tax agencies in the 50 states, District of Columbia, Philadelphia and New York City.

Because this is a new approach, FTA will continue to refine the submission form and the program structure for at least the first year. Send any comments and critiques to [email protected]

THE FTA LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Harley T. Duncan Award for Leadership continues unchanged. To nominate an individual, an agency head should email a nomination letter by March 31 to [email protected], listing the nominee’s career highlights and accomplishments. Remember to highlight leadership of activities that involve other agencies or other states. Leadership award nominations are judged by the FTA Board of Trustees executive committee.
