Technology Standards

FTA coordinates state and industry groups to develop standards for electronically communicating tax data to states. This is Coordinated through the TIGERS group. See the Statemef website for the latest. Some current standards are:

State Tax Change Portal

To help businesses and payment processors, FTA has teamed up with NACHA to create a portal website deseminating information on changes to state electronic format for business tax payments.

Motor Fuel Uniformity

FTA has a coordinating committee that brings states and industry together to develop uniform reporting, electronic filing, and communication standards for state motor fuel taxes. The committee published an annual report each year summarizing the recomended standards.
