You are cordially invited to attend the 49th Annual Western States Association of Tax Administrators (WSATA) Conference. The conference will be held at The Grove Hotel (www.westcoasthotels.com) in Boise, Idaho, one of Americas most livable cities, where the hospitality of Idahoans will make you feel right at home. The average weather this time of year is 77 degrees during the day, cooling down to 48 degrees in the evening.
This years conference will be exciting and informative. Topics include: valuations and communication issues; American Indians - property and severence tax; new technology; new services and organizational needs; nexus; and reducing taxpayer burden. WSATR will be coordinating several insightful breakout sessions. Topics include broadbased issues for property, sales, and income tax.
Idaho is renowned for its great outdoors. You might want to start Sunday off by participating in the WSATA 2000 Golf Tournament at Ridgecrest Golf Course. (If needed, transportation can be arranged to the golf course.) Other activities can be organized if there is enough interest, such as a fly fishing trip for the experienced fisherman. If you are interested in participating in this event, contact Jake Hoffman at 208-334-7544. (Space is limited.) Contact Dan John at 208-334-7530 to arrange a white-water rafting trip on the Payette River. Or just stay close to the hotel to enjoy the many fine restaurants and shops that Boise has to offer (www.boise.org).
Our guest program on Monday includes a four-hour tour of the MK Nature Center, the Basque Museum and Culture Center, and shopping in historic Hyde Park with lunch at a downtown restaurant.
We hope you will be joining us in Boise on September 17 -- 20, 2000!
Sincerely,
Coleen Grant
