The e-file system currently accepts 54 different forms and schedules as attachments to the tax return (1040/1040A/1040EZ). We plan to add five more - See above.
There are approximately 120 forms, schedules, elections and statements that need to be added to the IRS e-file program either as attachments to the return or as stand-alone forms. The ideal solution would be to add 40 of these per year to achieve the le
New Fields:
-Electronic Postmark - to be used by Authorized transmitters only; Date, time and time zone the return was received by the transmitter and used to determine timely filing.
-Debt Indicator - for Authorized EROs only when a direct deposit is requested; A code added to the Ack file indicating that the taxpayer and/or spouse has an outstanding liability with the IRS and/or FMS.
-IP Address Data - for On-Line Filing returns only; Information that identifies the IP address, IP date, IP time and e-mail indicator of the source of an electronic return filed on-line.
-Prepare TIN (P-TIN) - for those return preparers who have obtained a P-TIN; Either a P-TIN or preparer SSN must be present in the return record when the return is prepared by a paid preparer.
-Multiple entries on Form 8862 - when more than one school, day care provider or address are required to be reported; We are adding filed to the Form 8862 records to allow for up to three separate entries for school, day care provider or address informati
-Replaced the Jurat Statement reference and record with a one-position Jurat Disclosure Version Indicator.
New Reject Codes - based on feedback from the 1999 filing season
-515 - national check that identifies a Primary SSN that was used on a previously filed return.
-904, 905, and 906 - identifies duplicate Primary SSNs, DCNs and Spouse SSNs within the same drain.
- 472 - uniquely identifies a return with Form 2555/2555EZ attached that was not transmitted to the Andover Service Center.
-493 -Software Identification Number is not present.
The above should expand eligibility to all your clients!
For PY2001 filing season: The e-file system is being redesigned. Purpose is to free up space in the system to accommodate additional forms/schedules. Only those fields that are specifically used by the program will be passed through the validation runs
