2005 FTA MOTOR FUEL TAX SECTION ANNUAL MEETING

The 2005 FTA Motor Fuel Tax Section Annual Meeting will be held at the Hilton Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska September 25-28, 2005. This bulletin provides conference and hotel registration information and the preliminary agenda. Hotel reservations should be made by calling the hotel at (800) 445-8667 or (402) 998-3400. The cut-off date for the hotel is September 1, 2005.

The Uniformity Committee will meet Saturday, September 24, with subcommittees meeting Friday, September 23.

FTA Motor Fuel Tax Section Chair, Christy Dixon, from the Oklahoma Tax Commission, and Mary Jane Egr Edson, State Tax Commissioner, Nebraska Department of Revenue, and Member of the FTA Board of Trustees, extend a cordial invitation to attend the 2005 Annual Meeting of the FTA Motor Fuel Tax Section. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska, September 25-28, 2005. FTA Uniformity Committee will meet Saturday, September 24, with subcommittees meeting Friday, September 23.

The conference will begin with registration and an opening reception Sunday, September 25. Monday and Tuesday will be devoted to general sessions in the morning, with breakout sessions scheduled in the afternoon. Wednesday morning will include a general session with various topics of interest to motor fuel tax administrators. Regional meetings will be held Monday afternoon, and the Annual Business Meeting will be held Tuesday afternoon. The annual banquet will be held Tuesday evening, September 27.

Conference Program
The conference program consists of a mix of general session and concurrent breakout sessions presenting different topics of interest to state motor fuel tax administrators. They include Tax at the Rack Auditing, Seizures of all Properties, Ultralow Sulphur and other topics of interest to motor fuel tax administrators (see preliminary agenda).

Registration
Registration for the conference is $365 per delegate. The registration must be submitted prior to September 2, 2005 to avoid a late fee of $50.00. Make checks payable to the FTA 2005 Motor Fuel Conference. Registration forms can be found in the registration packet or Online. Please mail the completed form, along with your check, to:

Social Events
The conference will begin with a Sunday reception featuring complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages at the beautiful new Hilton Omaha. Lunch will be provided Monday, along with a fascinating speaker (Father Peters from Boys Town) who will entertain and teach you about Nebraska. A banquet will be hosted in the ballroom Tuesday night, featuring a delicious meal, after which we invite you to sit back and enjoy the wit of T Marni Vos, a Nebraska humorist, as well as a disc jockey spinning your favorite tunes.

Climate
Expect beautiful weather in Omaha, with highs averaging 74 and lows averaging 45.

Dress
The dress for the conference is business casual, except for the banquet Tuesday evening, which will be semi-formal.
