The 2002 FTA TOBACCO TAX SECTION ANNUAL MEETING

To State Tax Administrators and Guests:

FTA Tobacco Tax Section Chairman Carter Mitchell, Washington, and T. Jerry Jackson, Commissioner, Georgia Department of Revenue, extend to you their cordial invitation to attend the 2002 Annual Meeting of the FTA Tobacco Tax Section, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Savannah on the Historic Riverfront, Savannah, Georgia, August 4-7.

Conference Agenda

The conference will open Sunday, August 4, with registration, committee meetings and an evening reception. It will conclude Wednesday at noon with the annual business meeting. A preliminary agenda is attached. Registration will also be available on Saturday, August 3, 2002, 3:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m.

Local Arrangements

The social program arranged by the Georgia Department of Revenue, will begin with a Sunday evening reception at the hotel and will conclude with a Tuesday evening reception and banquet. In addition, the guest registrants will be treated to guided tours of Savannah’s Historic District and the Isle of Hope Low Country, where they will experience the beauty of coastal Georgia.

Hotel Reservations

Please make your reservations directly with the Hyatt Regency Savannah by calling 1-800-233-1234. When making reservations, you must mention that you are attending the Federation of Tax Administrators Tobacco Tax Meeting.

The room rate for the conference will be $114.00 per night single/double occupancy, plus 12% tax. The charge for an additional person is $25.00. If you wish to guarantee a river view, there is an additional $25.00 per night charge. The cut-off date for hotel reservations is July 9, 2002. After that date, accommodations will be available only on a space-available basis, and the conference rate will not be guaranteed for reservations made after July 9th. To cancel your reservation without charge, the hotel must receive your cancellation 72 hours prior to your arrival date.

Parking — Valet parking only. Discounted valet parking charge of $11.00 per day for conference attendees.

Airport Transportation — B & B Transportation (912) 964-1411, $12.50 one way and $20.00 round trip.

Taxi - $30 - $35 (including tip) one way, to or from airport.

Bus — Chatham Area Transit (CAT) offers free service with 32 stops throughout Savannah’s Historic District

Government: $250.00
Industry Representative: $375.00
Guest: $175.00

Advanced registration closes July 1, 2002. A late fee of $30 will apply to registrations received after that date.
