August 2-5, 2009• Grove Hotel and Convention Center • Boise , ID 83702

CULTURE, WEATHER, EVENTS AND SUCH

The cultural and entertainment attractions of Boise (also known as “The City of Trees” - the name Boise comes from the French word boisé, which means "wooded") are extremely varied as well as numerous. See http://www.boise.org for information on the variety of activities available and an August schedule of events. (Be sure to check out former FTA-er Jake Hoffmann on pedal steel guitar at Pengilly’s.) By the way, if you wish to blend in with the natives, use the pronunciation Boy-cee.

The average high temperature in Boise in early August is just shy of 90, with a low of 60. Dress for the sessions will be business casual, meaning collared shirts (polo OK), slacks, blouses, skirts, or dresses. Men will not be expected to wear ties.

Transportation and Parking
The Grove Hotel maintains a free airport shuttle that runs every ½ hour and every 15 minutes during busier times. Parking is $7 for self-park and $12 for valet. The Owyhee provides a 24x7 free shuttle from the airport, just use the airport courtesy phone, and the hotel provides a free lot for parking.

The hotels are about 15 minutes by taxi from the airport and will cost approximately $10 one-way. Parking is free.
