This Draft Standard for Trial Use contains the format and establishes the contents of the Tax Jurisdiction Sourcing Transaction Set (XXX) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This standard can be used to transmit any address, in US Postal Service format, from a wireless telecommunications vendor to the holder of tax jurisdiction sourcing information for the state in which the address resides, and to receive in return a sourcing of all tax jurisdictions which have governance over the address in question.

1/0700 The PPA segment is used in a response transaction only, to provide the FIPS-55 Named Populated Places standard codes applicable to the address.
1/0800 The TA segments are used in a response transaction only, to identify all special taxing districts applicable to the address.
1/0900 The ASI segment is used in a response transaction only, to indicate that information related to the Address requested could not be provided.
